Le Mans Bound 2010!

So... it's come around again, the annual pilgrimage to that special spot in France and I'm very excited!  This year I can't find a good business excuse to go, as really I should be at Oulton Park with the DAM Racing team but the call of the infamous 24hrs is too strong.  This year my steed of choice is my current weekend toy a Porsche 911 SC of 1983 vintage.  The trip will certainly be less comfortable than last year with no air conditioning, rock hard suspension, no power steering, no ABS and the thunder of the sports exhaust vibrating through the cabin but it will be the better for it.

I'm going down with my good friend and CEO of Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Hampshire Ashley Butterfield who is a true petrol head and is a Le Mans virgin.  We'll be staying with the White Rabbit Racing team again who put on a brilliant pitch last year with plenty of space, great amenities and a large screen to watch the racing and the futy as England's first match of the World Cup will be on the Saturday night.

In true tradition Dave and I have put the effort in to livery up the car and Dave has designed an awesome homage to the old Martini Porsches of the 70's but with a DAM Creative twist.  We did our usual job of fitting the graphics ourselves which is always a bit of a challenge, and makes me really admire our fitters who apply the vehicle wraps, it really is an art form!

I hope you approve of the final results.  If you see us on the way down give us a hoot, we'll be going down to catch the ferry from Portsmouth really early on Friday 11th June and the race starts at 4pm on the Saturday lasting until 4pm on The Sunday.  There should be around 90,000 Brits there so I don't think we'll be short of company.
